Science of Solar – Data Set

Summary

Students analyze a real Our World in Data chart and a five-country data table showing solar electricity generation from 2005 to 2024 to answer five questions spanning calculation, comparison, and prediction. Questions move from percent calculation to policy analysis to student-generated inquiry, making this a flexible critical thinking activity. Works well for grades 8-12 in earth science, economics, or social studies as a data literacy exercise within a solar energy unit.
